Our History

There are certain experiences that bond people for life. For Jordyn, Moriah and Alexis (pictured left to right), it was being daughters of breast cancer warriors. They met during the summer of 2013 when they interned through a Chicago Jewish Federation program and became fast friends. Throughout the school year, they were committed to get together when home from college to catch up and reminisce. The friendship grew and they supported each other through break-ups, college graduations, and even cancer. While other friends might not have understood the impact of watching your mother lose her hair, managing her drains, and holding her hand before and after surgery, they each understood.

Over Thanksgiving break 2014, they had an idea. Why not plan an event to raise breast cancer awareness and dedicate it to their mothers. They were all inspired by the shear strength and courage their mothers displayed during their breast cancer treatment and beyond, and wanted to do something to honor them. That is how Stay Strong and Mahj On came to fruition.

Our Focus
